Instructions

  1. Cleaning Masks, Head Gear and Tubing

    • 1

Place all headgear, tubing, masks and nasal pillows into the sink with warm soapy water. A mild detergent is recommended to ensure the integrity of the items. Alternatively, you can use a concentrated cleanser designed for CPAP machines.

    • 2

Agitate the equipment by hand in the soapy water for about 5 minutes. Make sure that water penetrates all of the equipment.

    • 3

Rinse the equipment with warm running water, until the water runs clean and free of soap.

    • 4

Let the equipment dry completely. You can hang the tubing over an internal door or over a shower rod. You can lay the mask and headgear on a clean dry towel. You should replace the tubing at least once a year, or sooner if torn or worn looking.

Cleaning the CPAP Machine and Filters

    • 5

Use a wet washcloth or cleaning wipe weekly to clean the outside surface of the CPAP machine.

    • 6

Remove the back filter from the CPAP machine. Clean the back filter weekly by running it under warm tap water, squeezing the water out of it until it runs clear of dust.

    • 7

Blot the filter dry with a clean dry cloth and replace it in the machine. You should replace this filter with a new one once each year.

    • 8

Replace the white filter monthly or whenever it is torn or discolored. This filter is not washable. Not all machines have white disposable filters.
