How to Sleep With Headsets for Sound Blocking
Noise-canceling headsets can be used to block sound during sleep. The advantage of wearing noise-canceling headsets is the ability to listen to ambient music while sleeping without distraction from any external noises, like the neighborhood dogs barking or the squeaking generator from a nearby restaurant. Sleeping with headsets, however, can require adjustments to different sleeping positions. Using a soft headset may render changing sleeping habits unnecessary but may not provide the noise-blocking ability required for your needs.Instructions

1
Get into bed and put your headset on. If you plan to listen to music while you sleep, make sure the cord is plugged into your mp3 player.
-
2
Play music that is ambient or has a slow, steady tempo, such as R.E.M.'s "Low."
-
3
Turn the volume down as low as possible so that you can hear the music but it is not so loud that you are distracted from falling asleep.
-
4
Lay back on your pillow so that you face up. Place the mp3 player under your pillow. If you need to tilt your head to one side to get more comfortable and relaxed, tilt as far as is comfortable. The hard external shell of the headset will make sleeping on your side or with your head completely turned rather painful.

Facilitate sleep by focusing on your breath and breathing in and out slowly.
