How to Enable Patient Access on ResMed VPAP Auto 25
Sleep apnea is a common sleeping disorder that affects millions of Americans. Sleep apnea is a potentially dangerous condition which causes shallow breathing and abnormal lapses of normal breathing. A VPAP machine treats apnea by delivering positive air pressure through a face mask while you sleep. The ResMed VPAP Auto 25 is a compact, bi-level VPAP machine designed to auto-adjust pressure flow, according to your breathing patterns. You must follow important steps to access your ResMed VPAP machine settings.Instructions

1
Place your ResMed VPAP on a level surface away from any curtains or bedding that could overheat the system. Plug the device into a working outlet and press the "On" button to power the VPAP machine. The LCD screen will briefly display "ResMed VPAP Auto 25" then change to the standby message "Ramp/Settle."
-
2
Call your sleep clinician and request access to the "Ramp" and "Settle" main menus. All other setting options are available under these two main menus, so you must obtain access to these menus before accessing any other clinical settings. Only a sleep clinician or medical service provider can set-up your VPAP machine to allow patient access to provider settings.
-
3
Ask the sleep clinician to access your ResMed VPAP Auto 25 remotely and change the clinical settings to allow patient access. Certain sub-settings, such as exhalation levels and expiratory pressure relief (EPR) levels are not displayed in the menu unless a sleep clinician programs the device to allow patient access. Sleep clinicians can access your machine to make the necessary changes remotely via a ResScan data card, ResTraxx wireless module or a simple computer connection.

You can change other clinical settings on your ResMed VPAP Auto 25 device by choosing CPAP mode or S mode.
