How to Stop Snoring With Nasal Strips
A variety of factors can contribute to snoring like structural abnormalities in the nose and mouth, swollen adenoids, congestion, obesity and consuming alcohol or drugs. Fortunately, nasal strips offer an effective, non-pharmaceutical treatment option for snoring. In a 1999, scientists at the University of Mainz School of Medicine in Germany found 19 out of 26 subjects experienced significantly less snoring-related sleep disturbance when using a nasal strips. Using a nasal strip is easy but does require proper adhesion and preparation before sleeping.Instructions

1
Wash your face using warm soap and water. Natural oils in your skin can limit the adhesive ability of the nose strip. Wipe an astringent on your nose and forehead after washing your face for especially oily skin.

2
Stand in front of a mirror and run your finger down the side of your nose beginning in between your eyes. Stop your finger when your nose feels soft instead of hard, indicating the end of the cartilage. The beginning of the soft nose tissue is where you will place your nasal strip flexor tabs.

3
Remove the adhesive backing from the nasal strip. Place the first flexor strip over the spot where your cartilage ends alongside your nose. Firmly pull the strip over the bridge of your nose and secure the second tab in the same location on the other side of your nose. You should feel the strip expanding your upper nostrils outward allowing for easier breathing.
