1
Fill the BiPAP humidifier with distilled water. Pour in the water until it becomes level with the stopping line on the humidifier. Placing the water in the humidifier creates moisture, which helps prevent common symptoms of sleep apnea such as dry mouth and throat.

2
Attach the long hose to the humidifier and then to the opening on the mask. Fasten the short hose to the humidifier and then to the attachment near the "On/Off" button. Additionally, air filters must be used to help cleanse air coming through the hoses. Remove the filter top from the front of the machine. Place the air filter and fit it carefully into the slot. The air filter should have a snug fit and cover the entire allotted space. Replace air filters every six months.

3
Adjust the mask and prepare to turn on the machine. Arrange the mask so it fits comfortably over your face. An improper fit can cause air slippage, which may negatively affect sleep quality. The air pressure helps push air through the tubes to support breathing during the night. Flip the switch to "On." You should hear a low to medium hum of air depending on the air pressure. Lie in a comfortable position on your bed while wearing the mask.
