Instructions for a Remstar Auto CPAP Machine

The REMstar Auto is a "smart" Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) device that detects and responds to an apnea patient's pressure needs in real time. Its electronic circuitry uses a proactive algorithm that analyzes airflow and instantly adjusts the pressure the patient receives. The REMstar Auto also features C-Flex, which reduces the pressure delivered to the mask when the patient is exhaling, making CPAP treatment more comfortable.

Instructions

    • 1

      Plug the CPAP machine into an electrical outlet.

      Push one end of the airway tubing onto the air outlet on the CPAP machine. Push the other end of the airway tubing onto the air inlet on the CPAP mask.

      Put the mask over your face and adjust the straps so you have a comfortable fit over your nose or face.

      Breathe normally through your nose. The CPAP machine should automatically start providing pressure within four breaths.

      Push the Pressure On/Off button if the machine does not start automatically.

      If full pressure is too uncomfortable to allow you to fall asleep, you can temporarily reduce the pressure by pressing the Ramp button, which is the lower button to the left of the display.
