How to Get Nose Strips to Stick

These strips are designed to open the airway, making it possible for the person to breathe through her nose and avoid snoring. Oily skin however, can prevent these strips from sticking effectively. Practice a simple tip to get the strips to stick and the snoring to stop all night long.

  • Nose strips
  • Cotton balls
  • Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol)

      Pour two tablespoons of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol onto a clean cotton swab just before bedtime. Wipe the cotton ball on the bridge and sides of your nose to remove oil from the skin on and around your nose.

      Wait one minute for the skin on your nose to air dry.

      Remove the adhesive backing from one of your nose strips. Place the strip across the bridge of your nose and press the center of it down firmly. Hold the strip onto your nose with steady pressure for one minute.

      Press the sides of the strip down on either side of your nose and hold each side down with a finger. Apply steady pressure for one minute. Remove your fingers and test adhesion by twitching your nose and mouth from let to right five times.
