What are Maddocks questions for assessing concussion?
The Maddocks questions are a series of questions used to assess for concussion in athletes. They are:
1. What happened?
2. What hurts?
3. What do you remember about the event?
4. Did you lose consciousness?
5. Did you vomit once or multiple times?
6. Do you have any headaches, nausea, or dizziness?
7. Are you feeling foggy, or is it hard to think?
8. Are you sensitive to light or noise?
9. Do you feel unsteady or off balance?
10. Do you feel like you are in a dream?
If an athlete answers yes to any of these questions, they should be removed from play and evaluated by a medical professional.
