How can head injuries be prevented?

1. Wear a helmet:

- While participating in sports or activities that carry a risk of head injury, such as biking, skiing, skateboarding, or playing contact sports

2. Childproof your home:

- Install safety gates at the top and bottom of stairs.

- Use outlet covers

- Place non-slip mats in the bathtub and shower.

- Remove tripping hazards, such as loose rugs or toys, from the floor.

- Keep sharp objects locked away out of reach

3. Be cautious near water:

- Young children should always be supervised near water, such as pools, lakes, or rivers.

4. Drive safely:

- Always wear your seatbelt and obey the speed limit.

- Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

5. Practice ladder safety:

- Inspect ladders for damage before use. Only use ladders tall enough for the job, and never stand on the top three rungs of a ladder.

6. Be aware of your surroundings:

- Avoid walking or running in dimly lit areas. Watch for uneven surfaces or debris

on the ground; especially when walking
