How to Tape a Knee Injury
If you have injured your knee in the past and the pain starts to return, it is a good idea to tape your injured knee. Whether you plan on exercising or you are just standing on your feet for the majority of the day, a knee in pain will tend to become annoying. If you tape your knee correctly, however, it will provide support which can possibly relieve some of the pain.Things You'll Need

1
Use the foam under-wrap first. Wrap this snugly around the lower part of your knee (the upper calf) to begin. Continue to wrap up to the knee and go all the way up to your lower thigh area. Tape the ends of the under-wrap to the skin.

2
Crisscross the tape in order to provide flexibility and stability for your injured area. Place a piece of tape behind your knee where the under-wrap reaches your thigh. Then cross this tape over and place it on the calf area. Then take a different piece of tape and, beginning at the inside of the upper calf, cross it over and wrap it around the outside of the lower part of your thigh. Repeat this step going the opposite way from which you started.

3
Reinforce the tape that is already in place. Make sure you pay attention to your kneecap. Also make sure you keep taping in a diagonal so your knee can feel enough support. Once your knee feels supported, place vertical pieces of tape on the outside of the calf and thigh as well as the inside.

Wrap more sports tape around the entire taped area. Begin taping at the lower thigh. You will wrap this around the width of your leg until the tape reaches your calf. Stop the tape where the foam under-wrap stops. This should also fit snugly, but it should not be uncomfortably tight.
