How to Ice a Bad Scrape
Scrapes occur when unprotected skin comes into contact with a rough surface and the friction between the two surfaces causes the skin to tear. This kind of injury often occurs in sports. You can treat bad scrape wounds using everyday household first aid supplies. Icing a wound helps to numb any pain at the same time reducing the swelling. Consider seeking immediate medical attention if the scrape wound is deep or looks like it might require stitches to heal.Things You'll Need
