      Lay the injured person down.

    • 2

Place ice in a sandwich or zipper storage bag so that it's almost full. Seal the bag to keep the ice inside.

    • 3

Wrap the dry towel around the ice pack and place on the sprained wrist. Ice for one hour.

    • 4

Wrap the wrist with an ace bandage. Wrap the wrist gently but tightly. The compression of the bandage will help reduce any swelling.

    • 5

Place a pillow under the wrist to elevate it. Several pillows may be needed to make the injured person feel comfortable.

    • 6

Give the injured person two ibuprofens to reduce swelling and relieve pain.

    • 7

Seek medical attention as soon as possible.
