Instructions

    • 1

Cut two 1/2-inch thick U-shaped pieces from the felt cloth. These pieces should fit snugly around the ankle bone. Elevate the injured ankle so you can wrap it properly.

    • 2

Place the U-shaped pieces on each side of the ankle bone. Ask the injured person to hold them in place when wrapping the ankle.

    • 3

Begin to wrap the ankle using the compression tape. Start at the ball of the foot. Wrap the compression tape once around the foot to secure the end piece.

    • 4

Continue to wrap the foot, moving downward to the ankle. Each loop should overlap to cover the foot as you move toward the ankle.

    • 5

Continue to wrap the compression tape around the ankle. Make sure the felt padding stays in place as you wrap the ankle. Cover the ankle with tape.

    • 6

After reaching the top of the ankle, create a figure eight with the compression tape. From the top of the ankle, wrap the tape around the middle of the foot. Then wrap the tape around the top of the foot. Wrap the tape around the ankle from the back. Repeat the figure eight at least three times.

Continue until you run out of compression tape. Use the clips to hold the compression tape in place.
