How to Wrap a Wrist After Surgery
Things You'll Need
- 2-inch elastic compression bandage
- 2 metal fasteners

Turn the injured wrist over so that the open face of your palm is facing upwards. Place one end of the bandage 1 inch below the wrist joint. The bandage should be on the opposite side of the wrist facing you.

Wrap the bandage twice around the wrist. Stagger the bandage so that one-third of the previous wrap is showing.

Draw the bandage up and across the open face of your palm and down the backside through the space between the thumb and forefinger.

Wrap the bandage once around the wrist. Stagger the bandage as previously described.

Pull the bandage up and across the face of the palm and down the backside. Stagger the bandage so that one-third of the previous wrap is showing.

Finish wrapping the bandage around the wrist until you reach the end of the bandage. Stagger the wraps down the arm toward the elbow joint. Leave one-third of the previous wraps showing.

Hold the end of the bandage tightly to the previous wrap and fasten with the two metal clasps.
