Know How to Spot a Stroke? Most

FAST is an easy way to remember the signs of a stroke.

Face Drooping - Does one side of the face droop or is it numb? Ask the person to smile.

Arm weakness - Is one arm weak or numb? Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one drift down?

Speech difficulty - Is speech slurred? Is the person able to understand you? Ask them to repeat a simple phrase.

Time to call emergency - If the person shows any of these symptoms, time is crucial. Call emergency services immediately.

Additional signs of stroke:

Confusion. The person may be confused about where they are or what is happening.

Trouble seeing. The person may have blurred vision or may not be able to see in one eye.

Trouble walking. The person may have difficulty walking or may stumble.

Headache. The person may have a sudden, severe headache.

Seizure. The person may have a seizure.

Loss of consciousness. The person may lose consciousness.

If you think someone is having a stroke, call emergency services immediately. Do not wait to see if the symptoms go away.
