Synthyroid Side Effects
Synthroid is used to treat Pituitary TSH Suppression and Hypothyroidism. It is taken once daily and should be taken in the morning before breakfast, ideally at least 30 minutes before breakfast.-
General Side Effects

The general side effects of synthroid are fatique, excess appetite and weight loss. Also noted to affect some patients is excessive sweating, heat intolerance and fever.
Nervous System Side Effects

Although not very common, possible side effects to the central nervous system from synthroid include hyperactivity, anxiety, emotional instability, headache, nervousness, irritability and insomnia.
Cardiovascular Side Effects

Cardiovascular side effects are reported in only 2 to 10 percent of patients. Cardiovascular side effects include tachycardia, high blood pressure, angina, cardiac arrest, palpitations, arrhythmia and myocardial infarction.
Gastrointestinal Side Effects

Gastrointestinal side effects include vomiting, elevation in liver function tests, vomiting and abdominal cramps.
Dermatologic and Reproductive Side Effects

Dermatologic and reproductive side effects while taking synthroid are quite rare. The dermatologic side effects are flushing skin and hair loss. The reproductive side effects can be impaired fertility and irregular menstrual cycles.
