Side Effects of Glycopyrrolate

Glycopyrrolate tablets are an anticholinergic medication used in the treatment of stomach ulcers in users. The medication works by suppressing the activity of certain chemicals in the body, which in turn decreases the secretion of stomach acid. As with most medications, there are a number of side effects that can come as a result of use.

Some of these side effects include blurred vision, bloating, constipation, decreased milk production in females, dizziness, drowsiness, decreased sweating, enlarged pupils, dry mouth, dry skin, nausea, weakness, and increased nervousness. While these are considered the most common side effects associated with using glycopyrrolate, they only affect a small number of users.

Some of these side effects include allergic reaction, hives, rash, tightening of the chest, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, swelling of the lips and mouth, confusion, increased excitement, seizures, pounding heartbeat, fainting, and vomiting. These side effects are also very rare and do not affect a large amount of users.

    Important Safety Information

Glycopyrrolate also adds to the effects of alcohol and other depressants and it is recommended not to use these substances during the course of your treatment. Use this medication with extreme caution in the elderly as the side effects appear stronger in those over the age of 65.

    Usage

    • Always use this medication according to your doctor's order and never in dosages that exceed what has been recommended on the label. Glycopyrrolate is administered orally in pill form and can be taken with or without food. If you miss a dose of the medication, take the next one as soon as possible.
