A mouth ulcer, also known as a canker sore, is a small, round, or oval sore that appears on the inside of the lips, cheeks, gums, or tongue. It is typically white or yellow in color with a red border. Mouth ulcers can be painful and make it difficult to eat, drink, and talk.
