How to Heal Small Skin Ulcers

The word ulcer stems from the Latin word "ulcus, ulceris," which means "sore, sore spot, painful spot, or ulcer." Skin sores that will not heal properly may turn into open skin ulcers. Skin ulcers could contain inflamed tissue accompanied with pus. There are many causes for skin ulcers, such as worry, illness, prolonged pressure resulting in bedsores, or exposure to corrosive material. They can form on the outside of the body, or they may form in the mouth, abdominal wall and even on the brain.

Instructions

Take 1,000 milligrams of Vitamin C daily to increase healing time. Apply Vitamin E oil to the wound, because vitamins C and E are depleted during the skin healing process. Take a folic-acid supplement for chronic skin ulcers that are the cause of poor circulation.

Keep an aloe-vera plant close by. Break off small pieces to release the gel and apply to the skin ulcer to aid in healing. Take a zinc supplement or apply a topical ointment containing zinc to help with tissue growth. Apply honey to the wound, because it helps destroy bacteria by drawing out the moisture from the sores.

Apply a raw garlic paste with clean dressings every eight to 10 hours; rinse the skin ulcer with pure water during each dressing. Apply hot Epsom salt compresses to relieve pain and speed up healing. Increase your protein intake through diet to aid in the healing process. Drink lots of fluids to flush the system.
