How to Get Rid of Canker Sores in Your Mouth
Canker sores are shallow ulcers that occur inside the mouth. The cause of canker sores is not exactly known: However, fatigue, stress and certain foods can increase the possibility of a canker for some people. Canker sores will usually heal on their own within two weeks, but many people require treatment for the discomfort and pain during this time.Things You'll Need
- Cold sore gel
- Antimicrobial mouthwash
- 1 tbsp table salt
- 1 cup water
- Hydrogen peroxide

Mix the salt and water together in a cup to thoroughly dissolve the salt. Once dissolved, take a mouthful of the salt solution and swish it around your mouth for one minute. Spit out the water and repeat three times daily.

Dab a drop of hydrogen peroxide onto the canker sore using your fingertip and allow it to remain in place. This method is most effective in the early stages of sore development, however, it still helps to alleviate the discomfort at any stage.

Rinse with an antimicrobial mouthwash three times daily. Allow the liquid to remain in your mouth for at least 30 seconds in order to kill any bacteria and help resolve any infections.

Dab a drop of cold sore cream or gel onto the canker sore up to three times daily. These over-the-counter medications numb the area and help to alleviate the pain.

Avoid spicy, hot or acidic food and drinks. These can irritate the area and cause further discomfort.
