See a doctor to get a proper diagnosis and medication. Antibiotics are traditionally used to combat a bladder or UTI infection. Take your antibiotics as prescribed to prevent recurrent infections.

    • 2

Fight back and pelvic pain with over the counter (OTC) drugs. Talk with you doctor to see if you're able to combine OTC pain relievers with antibiotics. Bladder and UTIs commonly cause back pain and lower abdominal pain. Medications such as aspirin and ibuprofen can relieve discomfort.

    • 3

Drink cranberry juice. To improve your urinary health and stop the growth of bacteria in the urinary tract, drink several glasses of cranberry juice to increase your urine's acidic level.

    • 4

Remove toxins and bacteria from your body. To rid your body and urinary tract of bacteria and toxins, increase your intake of water. Consume a minimum of eight glasses a day.

    • 5

Alleviate pressure with a heating pad. Bladder pressure and pelvic pain can limit activity. Apply a heating pad to your lower abdomen (or take a hot bath) to reduce pressure and relieve inflammation.

    • 6

Build up your immune system with vitamin C. While battling a urinary tract infection, take 1000 milligrams of vitamin C daily to help your body fight the infection and heal faster.
