Bladder infections, also known as cystisis, affect more women than men. They occur when bacteria, particularly E. coli, enters the bladder through the urethra.Medications, including Clindamycin, can be used to treat bladder infections.

Symptoms

Bladder infection symptoms include pain and burning while urinating, cloudy urine, and at times, blood in the urine. As the infection progresses, chills, nausea and headaches may also occur as a result of bladder infections.

If left untreated, bladder infections can become kidney infections.

Clindamycin which is pronounced klin da MYE sin, goes by the brand names Cleocin HCI and Cleocin Pediatric.
Warning

Prior to taking Clindamycin the doctor should be notified if the patient has a history of eczema, asthma or allergic skin reactions as well as liver or kidney disease, Crohns disease or colitis.
Completion

The entire prescription of Clindamycin should be taken even if symptoms of the bladder infection have ceased.
