Urolithiasis and Urinary Tract Infections
Urolithiasis is a term that is used to refer to a kidney stone. Kidney stones travel through the urinary tract system and is a common problem in the tract. Some stones are caused by urinary tract infections.-
Kidney Stones

Kidney stones are mineral deposits that have formed in the urinary tract system. The stones can be from the size of a grain of sand to about 1 inch in width.
Urinary Tract Infections

Urinary tract infections are caused by bacteria that can occur in any part of the urinary system. The most common cause is e coli bacteria found in the bowels.
Symptoms

The symptoms for kidney stones and urinary tracts are the same. You may experience stomach pain, decreased or stopped urination, blood in urine, fever, chills, nausea and vomiting. It is hard to self diagnose and a doctor needs to evaluate.
Corralation

Some stones are caused by urinary tract infections and are referred to as struvite stones.
Treatments

Urinary tract infections can be treated by antibiotics and increase fluid intake. Kidney stones may pass through the urine but if it does not pass, a procedure may need be performed to bust the stone.
