What Are the Causes of Male Bladder Infections?

Bladder infections are a type of urinary disorder caused by bacteria such as E. Coli gaining access to the bladder; in men, they can have several different causes and symptoms.

    Symptoms

    • Bladder infections are likely to cause urinary symptoms such as frequently feeling the need to urinate, pain or burning during urination and discolored urine.

    Diagnosis

    • Bladder infections can be diagnosed though urine and blood tests; getting infections diagnosed early is important to prevent the spread of bacteria to the kidneys.

    Treatment

    • Bladder infections can usually be treated effectively with antibiotics; UTIs can be stopped with antibiotics before bacteria spreads to the bladder if they are caught early.
