Ways to Cure Urinary Tract Infections

Urinary-tract infections, often referred to as UTI's, are caused by bacteria and make urinating painful. They also cause the sensation of having to urinate frequently even if the bladder isn't full. UTI's can become serious if left untreated, and immediate treatment is recommended.
  1. Liquids

    • Begin a regimen of water and cranberry juice. The water will flush your body of any toxins and help rid your body rid itself of the UTI more quickly. Cranberry juice is rich in antioxidants and also stops the bacteria from attaching themselves to the urinary-tract cells, so the bacteria will pass through you instead of making you sick. Stay away from caffeinated beverages, which can exacerbate the problem.

    Colloidal Silver

    • Colloidal silver is a mineral that has all-natural antibiotic properties. It kills only the bad bacteria in your body, while prescription antibiotics kill both good and bad bacteria. There are no side effects with colloidal silver. Make sure to take it on an empty stomach with a glass of water; otherwise, it will stick to food particles and work properly.

    Antibiotics

    • Your doctor can test your urine to confirm a diagnosis of a UTI. He will then write you a prescription for antibiotics, which will kill the bacteria. You must take the antibiotics until the prescription runs out. You may begin to feel better in a day or two, but if you stop taking the medication too soon, the infection will come back.

Tip: Make sure you eat one yogurt each day that you take the antibiotics. The yogurt will replace any good bacteria that you've lost.
