Overactive Bladder Symptoms

An overactive bladder, sometimes referred to as urge incontinence, can be an embarrassing problem. The sudden need to relieve yourself can strike at any time if you have this medical condition, which is caused by a variety of underlying factors. Bladder inflammation as well as neurological disorders can lead to urge incontinence. Fortunately, drug therapy, biofeedback and occasionally surgery can all be used to successfully treat an overactive bladder.
  1. Population Affected

    • Due to the wide range of causes of an overactive bladder, people of both sexes may show symptoms at any age. Symptoms are more likely to occur as you grow older.

    Distention and Pain

    • Pain and distention in your abdominal region is a common symptom of an overactive bladder. You may notice one without the other, or both symptoms at the same time.

    Frequent Urination

    • Needing to urinate frequently throughout the day as well as during the night can be a sign that you have an overactive bladder.

    Leakage
