Urinate fully before intercourse. Intercourse for some people can last hours at a time. Urinating before intercourse will cut down on urinary tract infections considerably. If you let your urine settle in your bladder for long periods of time, this can cause bacteria build up which can later lead to urinary problems. You are encouraged to urinate fully before beginning intercourse and if you have overactive bladder disorder, make sure you take your medication at least 2-3 hours before intercourse so that you don't develop an urge to use the bathroom during intercourse.
