Urticaria What Is
Urticaria, better known as *hives*, is a condition that causes raised, itchy bumps or welts on the skin. It is a common skin condition that can affect people of all ages. Hives can appear anywhere on the body and can last from a few minutes to several days.
It is common to get hives from foods. Food allergies (eg, milk, eggs, fish, wheat, etc.) are the most common triggers for urticaria in children whereas infections in adults. Drugs also commonly cause urticaria in both children and adults.
