What are the two functions of male urethra reproduction organs?

The male urethra has two main functions related to reproduction:

1. Passage of Semen: The male urethra serves as a conduit for the passage of semen during ejaculation. Semen is the fluid that carries sperm from the testes to the female reproductive tract during sexual intercourse. During ejaculation, the muscles surrounding the urethra contract, propelling the semen out through the penis.

2. Transportation of Urine: In addition to its role in reproduction, the male urethra is also involved in the urinary system. It serves as the pathway through which urine exits the body during urination. When a person needs to urinate, the muscles of the bladder contract, pushing urine through the urethra and out of the body.

The sphincter muscles surrounding the urethra help control the flow of both urine and semen. During ejaculation, these muscles contract to prevent the backward flow of semen into the bladder, ensuring its efficient expulsion. Similarly, during urination, the sphincter muscles contract to prevent the leakage of urine.
