Does salt contain high uric acid?
Salt itself does not contain uric acid. Uric acid is a waste product that is formed when the body breaks down purines, which are substances found in some foods. When uric acid levels in the blood become too high, it can lead to a condition called gout. Foods that are high in purines include red meats, organ meats, certain seafoods, and some alcoholic beverages. Salt, on the other hand, is composed of sodium and chloride ions and does not contain purines.
