What is hyperuria?

Hyperuricemia is a condition where there is too high a level of uric acid in the blood, which can lead to gout and kidney stones. Uric acid is a waste product of purine metabolism and usually excreted by the kidneys. When uric acid levels in the blood are too high, it can crystallize and form deposits in the joints (causing gout) or in the kidneys (causing kidney stones). Hyperuricemia can be caused by a combination of factors including diet, genetics, and lifestyle, and is also associated with certain medical conditions such as kidney disease, hypertension, and diabetes.
