What cells are found in the urinary system?

3. Smooth muscle cells:
- Found in the walls of the renal pelvis, ureters, bladder, and urethra.
- Responsible for peristalsis, the rhythmic contractions that propel urine through the urinary tract.
4. Interstitial cells:
- Located in the interstitial spaces between the nephrons.
- Include fibroblasts, macrophages, and other immune cells that provide structural support and maintain tissue homeostasis.
5. Nerve cells:
- Found in the renal nerves that innervate the urinary system.
- Regulate the activity of the smooth muscles and control urine production and elimination.
