How to Treat Pink Eye With Contact Lens Solution
Pink eye, otherwise known as conjunctivitis, is the swelling of the conjunctiva (or the membrane which covers the clear white part of the eye). Once the eye is inflamed it turns a pinkish color, and can become itchy or have a burning or painful sensation. Although most doctors may suggest waiting out the problem until it disappears there are a few ways you can speed the process along. One of these ways in fact, is to use contact lens solution to solve your irritation.Things You'll Need

1
Find a soft contact solution. (These can be purchased almost anywhere and range in price). Use a solution that has boric acid in it, as this will help the swelling in the eye.
-
2
Pour the solution in a paper cup. Use this solution as an eye rinse at least two to three times a day. Make sure you are blinking your eyes once you have gotten the solution in to ensure that it is spread throughout the eye. (Some contact lens solutions come with a dropper that you can use on the eye as well). If you do not feel comfortable doing an eye rinse or using a dropper for the eye you can apply the solution on your fingertip. Rub the fingertip on the outer edge of your eye, trying to get as close to the eye as possible.

Continue to use the solution. The eye inflammation will go down within two to three days.
