How to Seal My Shingles
For any person who has ever had the chickenpox virus, the virus does not die in the body, but instead lies dormant. For those with weakened immune systems or other conditions, it is possible to experience shingles, which is a virus caused by the same virus as chickenpox. One of the distinguishing symptoms of shingles is blistery scales on the skin, which can be painful and itchy.Things You'll Need

Seal and Soothe
-
1
Try this tip from Robert B. King, MD, professor of neurosurgery at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse College of Medicine, when it comes to sealing shingles-related blisters. Begin by crushing (or using a powdered form of aspirin) two aspirin tablets combined with two tablespoons of nail polish remover (that should contain acetone).
-
2
Dab a clean cotton ball into the solution, then gently dab on your shingles blisters.
-
3
While applying, be careful not to apply to areas where the blisters may have burst, as the solution can seep into the blisters and cause burning.
-
4
You should begin to feel relief within five minutes. After several hours, the sensation may have worn off. Reapply as needed.

For another soothing compress, try Burow's solution, which is a form of aluminum acetate. This solution has a low pH level that acts as an antiseptic and astringent.
-
6
Mix one to two parts Burow's solution with eight parts water (cool, but not cold, is best).
-
7
Soak a compress or cotton dressing in the solution, then place on affected areas (legs, arms, and so on).
-
8
Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes in order to soothe the affected area.
