Instructions

    • 1

Minimize physical activity. The body needs to use as much of its energy as possible to fight the virus.

    • 2

Drink water as soon as you are able, even if it is only a tablespoon at a time that you are able to keep down, so you can start rehydrating the body.

    • 3

Drink apple juice or tea when you are able to consistently keep small amounts of water down to replenish some of the nutrients that are lost from the vomiting and diarrhea.

    • 4

Attempt to eat bland foods like applesauce, bananas and crackers after you have been able to keep liquids down for several hours.

    • 5

Begin eating regular foods again after two to three symptom-free days.
