1
Use condoms. HPV is very contagious and it is most often spread through anal and vaginal sex. Condoms can help keep HPV from spreading but don't protect other areas where contact might be made.
-
2
Abstain from sex. Although it might be extreme, abstaining from sex prevents the transmission of HPV. In this situation, resorting to masturbation will be a safer road.
-
3
Boost your immunity. HPV is a virus: drink a lot of water and eat fruits and vegetables that are high in antioxidants. This will keep your immunity high to fight the virus.
-
4
Seek a counselor or therapist. When you contract HPV, you might have a lot of feelings of depression, anger, guilt and frustration. A sex therapist or counselor can help answer questions and give you support.

5
Talk to your partner. It is important that your current partner or future partner knows that you have the HPV virus. Sit down with them and explain the details of your situation. Discuss contraception methods with them and allow them time to think about the situation.
