How to Put on an Orajel Cold Sore Patch
A cold sore is a blister that occurs on or around the mouth. It is caused by a virus. Orajel makes a treatment for cold sores that comes in medicated patch form. The cold sore patch can be left on overnight. The patch is appropriate for cold sore sufferers age 2 and older.Things You'll Need
- Soap
- Towel
- Washcloth
- Orajel patch

Wash your hands with soap and warm water. Dry your hands on a clean towel. Dampen a clean washcloth with cold water. Gently rinse the area of the cold sore with the wet cloth.

Open the Orajel package, and peel one patch off the enclosed card. Gently press the patch into place over the cold sore. Press the patch with the damp cloth to ensure that it sticks.

Leave the patch on overnight. It will slowly dissolve during the night. If any pieces of the patch remain in the morning, wet a clean cloth and gently wipe the pieces off the lip.
