Topical Lotion For Wart Removal
There are many different ways to remove warts, based mostly on what type of wart you are trying to remove. The easiest and least invasive means of removing most warts is by using topical lotions which you can simply apply to the top of the wart or the skin surrounding it. Most of these wart lotions can be bought over the counter at a pharmacy, though some require a prescription.-
Salicylic Acid Lotions
-
One type of over-the-counter lotion which can be bought at most pharmacies should contain large amounts of salicylic acid which will eat into the surface of the wart and, over time, dissolve the root. Salicylic acid is in most face washes in a limited amount as it is good at removing the surface layer of dead skin from the body. By consistently adding this type of lotion to the top of a wart and the surrounding area, the salicylic acid will dissolve and kill the wart while the moisture from the lotion will keep the skin moist and loose to the touch. These lotions usually work best on flat warts.
Herbal Lotions
-
Topical lotions created from herbs can help cure or treat warts on the skin. Lotions high in the white sap of milkweed will usually kill most warts. Aloe lotion has been used for centuries to help treat warts, and many lotions and creams are made from this plant. To find the ingredients in the wide variety of lotions at your local pharmacy or herbal supply store, pour over the ingredients in each lotion or ask someone who works there. This lotion should be applied regularly throughout the day.
Prescription Lotions
-
For certain warts, like genital warts and very large or difficult-to-remove plantar warts, prescription creams and lotions will be necessary to treat them. You must first visit a doctor who can diagnose what type of wart you have and what kind of prescription you will need. Make sure these lotions are used only externally and that you never use over-the-counter topical medications for genital warts.
