Freeze Away Wart Remover Instructions

Dr. Scholl's Freeze Away Wart Remover is an effective treatment for common warts. The Freeze Away product will not work for plantar warts (warts on the foot), genital warts, warts on your head or face, or warts with hair growing out of them. It is only to be used for common warts on your fingers. Children under age 4 can be permanently scarred by using the product.
  1. Applying the Wart Remover

    • The first thing you have to do is clean and thoroughly dry the affected area. Clean the area with mild soap and let it air dry for about 10 minutes. Screw the applicator tip onto the pressurized can. You will twist the tip clockwise to lock it in. Place the can upside down on a table and press down for three seconds. This will freeze the tip. Once the tip is frozen, push the tip onto your wart. Cover the entire wart.

    Discarding the Applicator Tip

    • Once you have covered your entire wart, you have to discard the applicator tip. Each Freeze Away package usually comes with enough tips for 12 applications. To discard the tip, use a cloth to grab it and turn it counter-clockwise. Touching the tip could cause the spread of the human papillomavirus (HPV) that caused the wart. Throw the tip away.

    Results

    • After you have applied the application to the wart, you have to wait for 24 hours and then gently clean the area with soap and water. It is possible that one application can remove the wart, but if not, repeat the process until the wart is gone.
