At Home Treatment for Warts on Feet

Warts on your feet, like most warts, are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The challenge with home treatment for warts is to eliminate the virus so that the wart doesn't return, which generally requires patience and persistence.
  1. Apply Vitamin A

    • Use capsules that contain 25,000 international units of natural vitamin A from fish oil. Break open a capsule and squeeze some oil onto the wart, rubbing it in; apply it once a day. Plantar warts might take four to nine months to disappear.

    Vitamin C

    • Make a paste from crushed vitamin C tablets and water. Apply to the wart and cover with a bandage to keep the paste in place.

    Tape

    • Place medical or first-aid tape snugly over the wart and leave it on 24 hours a day, seven days a week for a least three weeks. Change the tape only if it becomes too dirty.

    Castor Oil Paste

    • Mix castor oil with baking soda to make a thick paste. Apply the paste a couple of times a day ,and either apply a bandage or wear a sock.

    Salicylic Acid

    • Salicylic acid is the standard over-the-counter home remedy for warts; it's available in liquid, ointment or pad form.

    Cautions

    • Before using a home treatment for warts on your feet, be sure they are warts and not a corn, callus, mole or cancerous growth.
