How to Get Rid of a Wart With Oil

Warts are small, irregular skin growths that can crop up just about anywhere on the body, although they usually grow on the feet, hands and fingers. They don't typically hurt, and they eventually will go away on their own, even if you don't treat them. However, many people want to get rid of them because they are ugly and annoying. Castor oil is a popular folk remedy that may be able to eliminate warts.

Instructions

    • 1

Wash the area to be treated and dry it thoroughly. This will prepare the wart for the castor oil treatment.

    • 2

Apply a drop of castor oil directly to the wart's surface. If needed, you can use a toothpick to apply the oil. Jane Bothwell, a California herbal consultant, says you can mix the castor oil with baking soda to create a paste that can be used instead of pure oil.

    • 3

Rub the wart with your finger. Health 911 recommends rubbing it about 20 times.

    • 4

Cover the wart with first aid tape or a bandage. It should be covered tightly and completely. Leave the covering in place overnight.

    • 5

Repeat the process daily, rubbing down the wart with an emery board in between each castor oil treatment. Soak it in warm water after removing the tape or bandage, then gently rub away dead tissue with the emery board. Reapply the oil and bandage the wart again. Health 911 says you may need to do this for two to three weeks before you are completely rid of the wart.
