If you are willing to spend the money, the quickest way to remove a wart is through surgical excision. Consult a dermatologist and tell him what you would like done. After injecting the infected area with lidocaine to numb it, he will cut the wart off. To reduce scarring after this procedure, you may want to apply vitamin E.

If you would like a considerably less expensive solution, try an over-the-counter wart remover. Go to your local pharmacy and look for brands such as Dr. Scholl's, Compound W and Curad. Choose a medication that will either freeze (using a mix of dimethyl ether and propane) or burn (using salicylic acid) the wart off. You will need to apply the medication consistently for several weeks for it to be effective

If you don't want to break the bank to remove a wart, try one of these simple home remedies. Cover the wart with duct tape for about six days. Remove the duct tape and soak the wart in warm water for a few minutes. Use a pumice stone to file down the dead skin. Let it dry overnight, then reapply the duct tape and repeat. Continue until wart disappears. Alternately, apply apple cider vinegar with a cotton ball and cover with duct tape, changing the dressing daily. When the wart turns dark brown or black, let it dry out and then peel it off.
