Examine the soles of your feet. Warts generally appear as small, grainy or fleshy bumps, particularly underneath pressure points like the balls of the feet. Symptoms of plantar warts include tenderness or pain when walking.

If you think you have a plantar wart, you can treat it at home. Most will go away on their own within a year or two. Because plantar warts are generally uncomfortable, treating or removing them is the best course of action. Over-the-counter salicylic acid treatments are available for purchase at most pharmacies.

See a doctor if the plantar wart reappears after treatment, does not respond to treatment, changes in shape or color or interferes with your everyday movement.
