Treatments for Warts On Lips

Home Remedies

Apply a warm washcloth to the area. This will help keep the wart clean while softening and moistening the skin around it.
Purchase an over-the-counter wart remover. These come in patch and liquid versions; some may work by freezing off the wart, much as would be done in a doctor's office. You may need to apply the wart remover several times.
Read the label of liquid removers to make sure they are safe for oral use. Because the wart is on your lip, some removers may be harmful.
Medical Intervention
-
If over-the-counter treatments fail, consult your doctor. Three main options are available: prescription medication, surgery or laser removal.
Chloracetic acid medication is applied topically. If this or other medication fails to show results after a few applications, consider freezing and surgical removal. This consists of using liquid nitrogen to freeze and then remove the wart. If the wart is deeply rooted, the only option may be laser removal. As this procedure could leave a scar, make it your last resort.
