Plantar Wort Home Remedy

A plantar wart is a growth on the bottom of your feet. It is the result of coming in contact with HPV (human papillomavirus), and it is not serious. It is contagious and can cause a great deal of irritation. There are many ways to treat a wart, but many are costly and time consuming without providing relief. There are also home remedies to rid yourself of a plantar wart, but the most effective one is the use of apple cider vinegar. Vinegar contains acid, which destroys the affected skin area. After repeated contact with vinegar, the wart begins to raise up, turn black and fall off.

Instructions

    • 1

Gently rub the wart area with a disposable file, such as a nail file. You don't want to keep the file, as you can spread warts this way. Dispose of it after wrapping it securely in plastic.

    • 2

Put 3 cups of warm water and 1 cup of apple cider vinegar into a foot basin. Be sure to dilute the apple cider vinegar, as it can cause irritation to healthy skin. Soak your foot in the mixture for 10 minutes. (If you need to soak both feet, you can double this recipe.) Remove your feet from the soak and pat dry with a paper towel.

Soak a sterile cotton ball in apple cider vinegar, and then place it directly over the wart. Secure the cotton ball in place with an adhesive bandage, covered by medical tape. Leave on overnight. Replace the vinegar soaked cotton ball in the morning if you can leave it on your foot during the day.

Repeat this treatment daily, until the wart is removed. Once the wart has fallen off, repeat step 2 at least twice weekly to prevent the return of the wart.
