How to Freeze Facial Warts

Facial warts are unsightly bumps on the skin's surface. Warts are caused by the wart virus. Warts on the face are hard to cover up and treat with bandages and wart removers. The most effective way to remove and treat facial warts is to freeze the warts to kill the virus. Freezing the warts will help dry them out so they can be scraped away from the skin's surface. Freezing warts can be painful and leave scars on the skin, but you can cover up scars and warts you cannot. Wart freezing kits can be expensive, but it is more affordable than going to the doctor.

Things You'll Need

  • Rubbing alcohol pad
  • Cryotherapy wart freezing kit
  • Wet face cloth
  • Antibacterial soap
  • Cotton swab
  • First aid ointment

Instructions

      Rub the wart down with the rubbing alcohol pad to cleanse and prevent infection. The alcohol will sting a bit.

      Take the wand freezing applicator and place it into the cryotherapy solution container and hold it in for 15 seconds.

      Remove the wand freezing applicator from the container and place the end of it directly onto the facial wart and hold it there for 10 seconds. Repeat this step three times until the wart becomes white and flaky. The cryotherapy solution will sting and burn the wart and skin, but these sensations will disappear within 2 minutes.

      Wash and gently rub the area where the facial wart was with a warm, wet face cloth and soap to remove the dried white flaky skin and wart away. Do not rub too much or you could cause bleeding and infection.

      Take the cotton swab and apply the first aid ointment onto it. Apply the ointment to the area the wart was and cover it up with a bandage to keep it clean, and allow the area to heal up. The wart should be removed and the skin should begin to heal up within a week, but there will be a scar.
