Ways to Remove Internal Warts

Internal and external warts are both considered types of the human papiloma virus (HPV for short). Unlike other types of sexually transmitted diseases, the virus that causes genital and internal warts will remain in the human body for life. Internal warts have been linked to some forms of cervical cancer in women and anal cancer in men. After initial diagnosis, there are several homeopathic treatments to pursue. Medical treatments, however, require a personal doctor's examination to determine the right course of action based on individual needs.
  1. Diagnosis

    • HPV, the cause of internal warts, is virtually undetectable without external symptoms. The virus attacks the immune system and it takes approximately six months for natural immunity to develop, according to Roger Finch, author of "Antibiotic and Chemotherapy: Anti-Infective Agents and Their Use in Therapy."

If external warts are present, or you have reason to think you may be infected, consult your doctor to perform procedures based on the warts' location--an anoscopy if around the anus, or an urethroscopy if on the genitals. For women, pap smears will detect internal warts on and around the cervix and vaginal tract.

    Natural Cures

    • Although there are no cures that will work for everyone, homeopathic options can be used in conjunction with one another--with the overall goal of bolstering the immune system.

One option is a medicine made of natural ingredients called "Wartrol." This is taken orally, under the tongue. The medicine combines ingredients to strengthen your immune system, including potassium hydrate and nitric acid, with no reported side effects, according to the manufacturer's website. You can order this medicine online. However, the site also warns that if you are allergic to alcohol, you should not use Wartrol Homeopathic Genital Wart Relief, or any homeopathic medicine.

Garlic, licorice, and even the mood-stabilizing herbal drug called St. John's wort are also recommended to combat the virus, according to the authors of the book "The Herbal Drugstore: The Best Natural Alternatives to Over-the-Counter and Prescription Medicines."

Paul Bedson, author of "The Complete Family Guide to Natural Healing" recommends taking lymphatic cleansers like echinacea, to strenghten the immune system. Take this herb several times a day after meal-time. Pregnant women should not take echinacea.

    Medical Suggestions

    • For women, cryotherapy, a freezing treatment, may be used for internal warts on the cervix (although this type of treatment is generally used for external warts). Unlike external wart remedies, subcutaneous diagnoses are necessary, including biopsies. Treatments will include surgery and possibly laser removal.

For men, warts thought to be in the urethra or on the prostate require urologic evaluation, according to the book "The Fenway Guide to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Health." Once diagnosed, only your health care provider can safely and effectively diagnose and treat your symptoms with these methods, based on individual needs.
