Natural Ways to Treat Hand Warts
Warts are small growths on the skin caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). They usually occur on the hands or fingers and generally clear up on their own. However, there are a few natural remedies that you can use to speed the healing process. If you have a wart that is painful or will not go away, you need to arrange an appointment with your physician.-
Garlic Poultice
-
Garlic is well known for its healing properties. Make a poultice of garlic by crushing one or two cloves. Coat the wart with a drop of vitamin E oil and then apply the garlic. Cover it with a band-aid and remove it after 24 hours. You will know the treatment was successful if a blister forms and the wart falls off within a week.
Tea Tree Oil
-
Tea tree oil has immune boosting properties that will help your body fight off the virus causing the wart. Simple apply a drop or two of the oil several times a day until the wart disappears or falls off.
Apple Cider Vinegar
-
Apple cider vinegar has acidic properties that will cause your wart to fall off. Apply a small amount of Vaseline to the skin around the wart to protect it from the apple cider vinegar. Dip a cotton ball into apple cider vinegar and place it over the wart. Hold it in place with a band-aid or medical tape. Remove it after 24 hours. Repeat this treatment every day or two until your wart falls off. It could be up to one month before you see any results.
Lemon Juice
-
Lemon juice will dry out your wart and cause it to disappear over time. Apply it to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day.
Raw Potatoes
-
If you rub a slice of raw potato on your wart 2 to 3 times a day, your wart will eventually dry out and become reduced in size.
