How to Use a Restore Foam Dressing
Hollister Wound Care produces Restore foam dressings, which are suitable for use through the prescribed order of a licensed healthcare professional. The product range uses TRIACT technology to provide a lipido-colloid structure on the foam that minimizes adhesion to sticky wounds that create pain for a patient upon dressing changes. Wounds that are suitable for a Restore foam dressing are acute or chronic exuding skin ulcers, burns and skin graft sites. The Foam dressing soaks up wound liquid, forms a gel coating and allows the skin to breathe.Things You'll Need

1
Clean the wound and surrounding skin with a sterilized saline solution. Dry the surrounding skin with a clean soft cloth, using a gentle patting motion.
-
2
Use the Restore foam padding applicable to your condition. Use the standard Restore foam dressing for heavy or moderate wound leakage. Use a Lite-Restore foam dressing for a wound with light leakage. Use a Restore-with-silver foam dressing for wounds that require additional anti-bacterial measures to help to prevent exposure to MRSA and Staphylococcus aureus.
-
3
Pull off the protective tab lining from the Restore foam dressing. Position the dressing over the entire wound area. Press the adhesive tape to healed skin surrounding the wound.
-
4
Apply a bandage over the Restore foam dressing if the product type is not self adhesive or if you need a compression bandage. Secure the bandage with dressing tape as instructed by your healthcare professional.
-
5
Repeat the steps to change the Restore foam dressing within a maximum application of four days. Change the dressing sooner depending upon how heavily the wound exudes and how fast the skin is healing. Check with your healthcare professional for the dressing change frequency appropriate to your wound.
