How to Cauterize Damaged Ears
Cauliflower ear is a result of repeated hits to the ear. Boxers, wrestlers and mixed martial artists are most associated with this problem. If a large blood clot forms or the skin is ripped away from the cartilage, the cartilage will die, and the result is cauliflower ear. Although cauterizing the ear may be helpful in correcting the problem, it will not prevent cauliflower ear. The only way to prevent it is by wearing protective headgear at all times.Things You'll Need

1
Purchase a hyfrecator. These are available at medical supply stores. These machines emit electrical impulses through a probe and are applied directly to a wound to burn off damaged tissue. This procedure destroys and removes tissue by heating beyond a temperature in which cells can survive. It can remove small areas of tissue, but will not prevent cauliflower ear.

2
Use a silver nitrate stick. These are primarily used in stopping nose bleeds, skin ulcers and for wart removal, but could be used on an infected ear. You would apply a thin layer to the infected area and allow to dry. Wash your hands before and after application.

3
Monitor the area. With any injury, you want to make sure it is healing properly. It is always recommended that you have a medical professional perform any procedure as well as having them check on the progress of recovery.
